  Visit only makes sense during the season with guided tours.
  If you just pass by off-season, there is not much to be seen.
  We met the local fisherman in the nearby harbour - interesting chat...

  Not sure why this site has signs going all the way back to Cliffden as if it is a great tourist site. Dont bother unless you have reservations in advance for a tour. They were nice to serve samples, and the fish was good, but they wouldnt even let my squirming kids use their bathroom and we had to drive to a local golf course to use theirs. There were some nice beaches in the area so the trip wasnt a complete loss.

  Lovely location but I found the Smokehouse to be underwhelming. Very basic with not much to see. Also the produce was very much overpriced. As an example 200g of organic (farmed) smoked salmon cost 17 Euros. In Galway I bought the equivalent for 6 Euros, so won't be visiting the smokehouse again as it is a ripoff!

  This is really a very basic shop.
  Sporadic tours and no toilet facilities for visitors. The location is worth a visit but not the smoke house unless you are looking to buy some smoked fish.
